Meg and I came to the conclusion recently that we were ACTUALLY going to have to spend some time baby-proofing the house. Especially, if we want to avoid getting slobber on all of the electronics or our babies getting little jolt of hair-raising electricity if they try to lick the power strip (again). Honestly, you don't know that you need to do it until you actually see one of your kids vanish from one side of the room, then magically appear on the other. It happened to us. It will happen to you too!
I know I haven't posted in a while, but Sophie is on the move. She's not exactly crawling yet, but boy is she close. Don't be fooled by thinking her lack of crawling means she's immobile. It's quite the opposite. I've never seen someone roll so quickly and twist in every direction like this girl. Turn your head for one minute and she's on the other side of the room. I can only imagine what it'll be like when she actually starts moving forward on all fours! CRAZY
The other day, Meg said, "Honey. You'll never guess what Sophie just did." (words that I'm sure to hear a bazillion more times in my life) Whenever I hear statements like that, I bet you can guess what I do--grab my camera! And wouldn't you know it, I caught her in action!
She looks so innocent at first, actually trying to act like she's playing with another toy. Blending in with the background. Very nonchalant.
She does one final check to see if anyone's watching, then...
She goes for it!
It takes a little longer than expected and she offers a quick glance over her shoulder to see if anyone's on to her.
Then, back to work.
....Wait for it...Wait for it...
BINGO!
She asks herself, "I wonder what I can get for this?"
She then proceeds to bite down on it to make sure it's real.
"Wait a minute. This tastes kinda yummy." And off she goes.
BUSTED! She's sentenced to an afternoon full of kisses from mom.
We actually managed to catch it on camera. It's so smooth. It's kind of like she's been sneaking down in the middle of the night to practice. Scary. Definitely worth seeing on video.
Just so you know, I'm planning on doing some individual posts of each girl over the next week. I have all of the photos and videos from the last month on my computer and the blog posts just need to be written. Each and every "free" hour is so valuable these days and it's just been difficult to keep up.
I'll leave you with a couple of sneak peeks until the next post.
you need to post a little ticker that keeps track of their ages on here so we know how old they are!
ReplyDeleteThat little stinker......I am just imagining when all three have the ability to "explore"....hmmm, Sohpie says, "okay Maddy you occupy Mom and Dad while I go play with Abby's food." "Hey Sophie", Izzy says, "have you played with the toilet paper yet? All you do is just pull and you can go for hours having fun....!" "Look out." Maddy says, "here comes Mom!!!" LOL
ReplyDeleteThanks for the preview...can't wait for the rest.
Oh my goodness!! That was awesome!! We had a similar series of photos when Hunter was about that young, except she was stealing ornaments off the Christmas Tree! It's so good to see all of you again! You've been missed! :)
ReplyDeleteIt must be something with babies and Playstations! My 7 month old rolls across the room to get to it. She luckily hasn't found the eject button...just the power button so far!
